Instead of throwing in the towel for the night, we tried to solve the setback by putting a mixture of epoxy and sawdust into the crack and using straps to pull it closed. We threw a heat lamp on top and took a much needed wine and dinner break. When we came back, the epoxy was mostly hardened. We decided to put a layer of 4 ounce fiberglass cloth on the bottom of the boat and seal the rest with epoxy.
This weekend we'll be joined by some helpers, Seth Quarrier and part of the Miller gang. We can't wait for the extra hands and good company!

I am so amazed with this boat. She looks so beautiful. I have no doubt that the crack was more than healed. Worst case scenario you can give it to me and I will help make a new one. ;)
