About Us

Allie Miller
Born and raised in SE Massachusetts, Allie grew up swimming, sailing, and kayaking on the ocean. She didn't learn much about canoeing until college, where she was introduced to whitewater canoeing by the outdoors club. She spent three summers on the French Broad River both playing and teaching whitewater canoeing to incoming students at Davidson College.

Now she works as an instructor and program coordinator for Naturalists at Large, an outdoor education company based in Ventura, CA. She especially loves leading week long trips on the Colorado River.

Brian Quarrier
Raised in SW New Hampshire, Brian grew up in and around canoes. He enjoyed canoe trips with his family on the Connecticut River, the Androscoggin River, and many many more. His interest and knowledge in boat building and canoe tripping came from his adventurous parents, Keith and Leslie.

Brian learned about the NFCT while leading a canoe trip in the Adirondacks for The Darrow School. The idea of through paddling intrigued him. With the summer off from work with Naturalists at Large, he enlisted Allie and they took the leap to make this dream a reality.
